Billing is one of the most time consuming and laborious activities that a practice manager faces (although the most important for a consultants). This is often made even harder by insurance companies, hospital groups and corporates who demand preferential pricing and only the use of specific products or items. EMMA was designed from the outset to work on a contract and eligibility model which gives you the most flexibility possible. EMMA understands policies and contracts that allow you not only to define a price for a product or appointment, but also limits and rules. These rules allow the price and availability of a product to change based on:
This means that you can control the price of an appointment so that, for example Men over the age of 41 in your London clinic are allowed a health screen for £100 if booked on a Monday between 10:33 and 12:50 or a Tuesday in Bristol between 8:00 and 12:00 otherwise it will cost £120 unless they are over 51 in which case it will cost £140 or if they are a member in which case it will cost £80. The appointment must always be booked more than 3 days in advance and only one appointment is allowed per year. Charges for either companies or insurance companies are sent to their own central ledger allowing you to centralise billing for all your locations. Of course, if you prefer to filter the charges by location or date then this is also possible. Patient billing Because patients can be tied to insurance companies or corporates, you can offer enormous benefits to your patients and clients immediately. Patients who log in are offered a choice of either booking their appointment through the normal private plan or, if they are a member of a corporate or insurance company, either of those schemes. The patient simply chooses the appropriate option and then are presented with only the options that the particular contact dictates. This effectively makes it impossible for your patients to book something that the provider will not pay for!
